Through Munro & Noble Property Shop, estate agency services are operated from ground floor premises which attract the attention of the heavy volume of passing pedestrian and vehicle traffic as well as providing a convenient point of contact for people wishing to purchase properties being sold for clients of the firm.

Extensive and knowledgeable support on all aspects of the law of conveyancing in domestic house purchase and sales is provided by our fully qualified legal staff, with the bulk of work being carried out by partners of the firm with many years of experience in dealing with domestic conveyancing for private clients.

We also have many years of experience of undertaking commercial property transactions, including  the sale, purchase and lease of Farms, Hotels, Bed & Breakfasts, Retail Units, Office Accommodation, Crofts (see Business and Company, Agriculture and Crofting).

Born in Aberdeen, Alida graduated from Aberdeen University in 1985 with a degree in Law and in 1986 with a Diploma in Legal Practice. She then went on to complete her legal trainee-ship with a firm of solicitors in Aberdeen. Alida joined Munro & Noble with some 25 years of experience in all aspects of Property related matters including sale and purchases as well as re-mortgages and other conveyancing matters.
Deirdre Hart : Partner

Deirdre graduated from Glasgow University with an honours Law Degree in 1993, having specialised in comparative law, and then proceeded to complete her Diploma in Legal Practice. She secured a traineeship with Munro & Noble in 1994 and remained with the firm, becoming a partner in April 2003. Deirdre specialises in residential conveyancing and is head of our expanding residential Lettings Department. Outside of work, Deirdre enjoys a busy family life in Glen Urquhart.

Kay graduated from the University College of Wales with an Honours degree in Law before completing her Professional Practice Qualification at The College of Law Chester. She was previously a partner at a large provincial law firm in England before completing her Scottish Law conversion course and joining Munro and Noble's Property Department in 2015.

Iain McDonald began with Munro & Noble in June 2023.   Iain is a partner within our Conveyancing Department.  Brought up in Angus, Iain graduated from University of Aberdeen in 1994 with LLB(hons), completing the Diploma in Legal Practice the following year.  He trained with a firm of solicitors in Aberdeen and has practiced in Aberdeen, Elgin and Inverness.  Iain joined Munro & Noble as a partner in 2023 with 25 years’ experience in residential conveyancing.  IN his spare time Ian enjoys playing golf, rugby and hill walking.
Susan J Bird : Partner

Susan joined Munro and Noble in 2021 as a Senior Associate and deals with residential property transactions of all kinds, including crofting related matters. She grew up in Glasgow and graduated from the University of Glasgow with an MA (Hons) in English,  an LLB (Scots Law) degree and Diploma in Legal Practice. She worked as a mental health solicitor before switching to general chamber. She moved back to the highlands in 2014 and has been practising in the Inverness area ever since. Susan became Partner in August 2023.
Ian Donaldson : Consultant

Ian deals with conveyancing as well as Wills and executries. Ian joined Munro & Noble in 2020 to work mainly from our Aviemore office, to help serve the legal needs of the Badenoch & Strathspey area.
Caroline McIntosh : Senior Associate

Caroline joined Munro and Noble in 2021 as a Senior Associate and deals with residential property transactions of all kinds. She grew up in the north of England and Ayrshire before  graduating from the University of Edinburgh with an LLB (Hons) degree and Diploma in Legal Practice. After training and working initially in Edinburgh , a spell south of the border in Newcastle and a family career break Caroline moved to the Highlands in 1992 and has been practising in Inverness and Moray ever since. Out of the office Caroline enjoys spending time with her family, yoga and learning languages.

Kathleen graduated from Robert Gordon University with a BA Law and Management, LLB (Hons) and Diploma in Professional Legal Practice. She undertook a year of her traineeship in Caithness before completing her training with Munro and Noble, qualifying as a solicitor in 2019. Kathleen currently works in Dingwall dealing with Residential Conveyancing, Crofting, Wills and Power of Attorney.

Elaine is originally from Elgin and graduated from the University of Dundee with an LLB (Hons) degree in 2009.  She has recently completed her traineeship and is now our newest “home grown” qualified Commercial Property Solicitor. Elaine started with us June 2015 as a PA to our then Commercial Partner.  She then undertook her Diploma in Professional Legal Practice and her traineeship with Munro & Noble and is now a fully qualified Commercial Property Solicitor as of July 2022.

Catriona joined the firm in 1999 as Typist/Secretary before gaining her certificate of Performance in Domestic Conveyancing in 2003. Today she is a senior member of our Paralegal team.

Susan joined the firm in April 2014 after 26 years in the financial services industry. Susan has a wealth of administrative, managerial and staff management experience and is currently Typing Pool Supervisor.

Karen is based at our Wick office and is a conveyancing paralegal who works alongside Partner, Declan McGinley. She has worked at Georgesons since leave school at 16 years old.  She completed her paralegal course in 2015. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with family, reading and swimming.  She also enjoys eating out and weekends away. Georgesons was incorporated by Munro & Noble in April 2023.

Sophie joined Munro & Noble in June 2021 as a Conveyancing Paralegal following 5 years in another firm. Sophie completed her Paralegal Qualification in Residential Conveyancing in November 2018. Outside of work, Sophie enjoys spending time with her family and friends, walking her two dogs and travelling.

Chantal joined the firm in 2002 and now works within our Registry Department.  She is based within our Inverness office.
