When people in the Highlands face relationship breakdown, child disputes or other legal challenges, it is often at one of the most stressful times in their lives. The Court Department at Munro & Noble works with clients across the region to make this process easier, providing legal advice and representation in family law, civil litigation and debt recovery matters.
With offices in Inverness, Dingwall, Aviemore, Tain and Wick the team appears in Sheriff Courts throughout Scotland and in the Court of Session, supporting people dealing with complex and sensitive legal issues.

Senior partner Mary Nimmo leads the team, advising on both family and civil litigation. She is an advanced collaborative lawyer and is appointed as a court reporter, reflecting a focus on resolving disputes without unnecessary conflict where possible. She explains that many clients approach the firm due to its experience and the depth of skills across the team. “Our team brings a strong collaborative approach, empathy and understanding to what are often very sensitive and emotional situations,” she said. “Clients frequently tell us they feel listened to, supported and reassured throughout the process. We combine this compassionate approach with robust legal expertise and strong advocacy when court action is required.” Family law remains at the heart of the department’s work, particularly cases involving separation, divorce and child related disputes.
Sarah Windsor specialises exclusively in family law and has more than fifteen years’ experience dealing with issues such as child contact and residence arrangements, financial provision following relationship breakdown, adoptions and cohabitee claims. “Natalie Bruce also plays a key role in the family law team,” said Mrs Nimmo.
“She is qualified in collaborative law and is a certified trauma informed lawyer, which supports her work with clients who may be going through particularly distressing experiences.”

The department also provides civil litigation and debt recovery services, helping individuals and businesses recover or defend financial claims.
Samantha Moon, an Australian, dual qualified solicitor who has worked with the firm for more than a year, contributes to the department’s litigation and family law work.
Support is also provided by specialist debt recovery paralegal Jacqueline Brown, trainee paralegal Leah Campbell and legal secretary Clara Richardson, while the recent arrival of trainee solicitor Adam Sounny reflects continued growth within the team.
Mrs Nimmo added: “We guide clients through every stage of the process – from initial advice and negotiation to full court representation where necessary – always aiming to resolve matters as efficiently and sensitively as possible.
“Our focus is always on resolving matters as amicably and swiftly as possible, using negotiation and collaborative approaches where appropriate but we are highly experienced litigators when court proceedings are necessary.”
